Sir Ian Botham volunteers for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research
Sir Ian Botham is known to millions around the world as one of the legends of English cricket. He is Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research's President in honour of the millions of pounds he has raised for the cause. Botham spearheaded eight marathon walks between 1985 and 2000 including two from John O'Groats to Land's End and one, the Hannibal Trek, over the Alps with elephants.

The Calendar girls
When the ladies of Rylstone & District WI decided to do something a little different for their annual calendar, they had no idea of the media sensation they would create. Following a hit film based on their story, the Calendar Girls from Yorkshire have now raised over £1 million for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and their work continues. The girls appear on new merchandise including chocolates and a new calendar for 2010.

*Alastair Campbell

Alistair Campbell volunteers for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research
Alastair Campbell is best known as for his years as communications director for former Prime Minister Tony Blair. He decided to support Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research after losing his best friend - the journalist John Merritt - and John's daughter Ellie to leukaemia. He completed his first marathon for the charity in 2003 and is now Triathlon Team Captain and Chairman of Fundraising for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

Our running team now has more celebrity runners than ever before. Stars from programmes such as Emmerdale, Londons Burning, Heartbeat, The Bill, The Midsomer Murders, Peak Practice, Taggart and Monarch of the Glen regularly turn out at events round the country.

BBC presenter and former England captain Gary Lineker and Michelle are tireless supporters of our work. They became involved with the charity more than 15 years ago when their first son George was diagnosed with leukaemia. Gary is the face of our London Bikeathon and Michelle is a trustee of Leukameia Research.

Liz McColgan
Former 10,000m world champion Liz McColgan is patron of the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research TVTimes running team. She began leading the famous Banana Army of runners because her husband's brother died from leukaemia.
