Sir Ian Botham is known to millions around the world as one of the legends of English cricket.
Almost as legendary are his achievements as a tireless fundraiser for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. Sir Ian's inspirational efforts on our behalf have received world-wide recognition and he was knighted. in 2007. He also became President of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research back in 2003, an honour bestowed on him by our Patron, HRH The Duke of Kent.
Sir Ian has now completed 12 walks, raising £millions with 2008 being no exception. In October 2008, Sir Ian set off on Beefy's Great British Walk, walking in 9 towns in 9 days. For the first time ever, Sir Ian invited the general public to walk with him. The walk was a huge success raising over half a million pounds and Sir Ian hasn't hung up his walking boots yet!
